I wanted to model a door for the passengers to enter through. I planned to have two variations of this, one for the airport terminal and the other for the plane’s entry point.

Making this was easy to accomplish. I only had to insert edge loops and mirror one side across.

I had attempted CGI Tutorials’ way of applying the textures into Unreal (2013), but they still wouldn’t be applied to the mesh, so I worked around this by creating the texture materials and plugging them in that way.

The other set of doors had an additional glass elements fitted into them.

Next up was the immigration desk for the passports to be checked. Modelling one side means that I wouldn’t worry about making a mistake.

Next were the screen displays showing all of the flight information. I wanted to change the shape a little since I would be making multiple variations of the same asset.

Again, this asset was simple to make for all of the screen variations since I only had to extrude and change a few polygons to resemble an airport screen.

Next were the seating within the airport terminal section. I wanted to demonstrate how I could apply the example I had shown in the proposal to make a curved seating area.

I tried hard to match the style as shown in the reference image and related it back to the seats in my proposal. But once that was finished, I plugged the textures in and exported it into the scene.

Now it was time for me to add an escalator asset into the environment.

This was a little more complex, as I had to create the slops and the lower walls of the asset alongside the steps to make it.

The trickiest bit was the positioning as this will be placed within the corridors of the underground section, so I had to be mindful about the geometry too.

It was time for me to add an airport barrier to separate the check-in area and the security area of the landscape.

This is an easy asset to make in Maya as all I had to do was model this out of basic shapes and extrusions and mirror one side across.

Next were the rail tracks that would be placed inside of the station to provide an entry point for all of the passengers arriving at the airport by rail.

Making a section of rail was pretty easy, as all I had to do was extrude a couple of cylinders and make the supports.
I’ve created a curve to highlight to highlight the rail path and extruded the cylindrical faces (Mainwaring, 2021). The only downside to this is that I had to position all of the supports before duplicating the rails to make a second.

I wanted to create an asset where people would order food from, as many airports offer food kiosks in their terminals.

I’ve made sure to the features of a kiosk, like the cashiers and a display barrier. I’ve also tried to decorate the front exterior for the customers to see.

Here are two off the same kiosk right next to each other in the landscape next to the terminal entrance.

The final asset I would be making are the large airport windows that show the runway.

I wanted to place glass inside of this to compliment the reference image above and allow guests to see the airplanes.
