Once all of the groups were formed and finalised, each member had to adopt roles dependent on the chosen project. Since our project was expanding on a business idea previously thought of in the last semester, our roles had to be something we could all manage without risking burnout. For my roles specifically, I’ve chosen to accomplish the overall overlay designs, which are essentially the graphical elements of a content creator’s screen while they are streaming. I have the skillset to follow that through in Photoshop and feel like I’ve become better at graphic design and composition for me to undertake the role. I’m also going to think of the colour design with each of the overlays I will be creating and how they will fit into the overall design, such as the colour palette.
I also wanted to produce some short After Effects animations of the overlay text, which can be displayed by the content creator to either subscribe, or if someone has donated to them. I have experience and knowledge behind the keyframes and effects. I also created some stream labels for the project in which I will attempted to design them with each overlay theme to show the audience what the brand offers. I have used Photoshop to design the labels as I’m slightly experienced with the software, but was willing to push through and have designed something that relates back to the role I volunteered to do and allows me to experiment with the blending options within the software.
