Researching the overlays was vital to any given design. I’ve come across the concept of labels. “Stream Labels are text overlays that update in real time based on interactions with your viewers and fans. These are crucial to creating an interactive and seamless stream overlay.” (David, n.d).
Nick (2021) compares overlays to pizza toppings, as more content makes the overlay “more attractive to onlookers.”
I also followed some tutorials on how to design overlays and labels. (MonoMonster et al, 2020; Project Ace, 2018).

Overlays

I thought about how the designs of a futuristic overlay would look and tried to match that style.

The design is based on Minecraft (Mojang Studios, 2011), so I’ve added a block to stay true to the source material and makes the overlay unique. (Ein, 2022)

I’ve used a custom font (dafont.com, n.d.a) that fits within the Easter theme and assigning each window a different colour creates contrast.

The spikes in this design represent the icicles, which further complements the ice theming more and separates it from other designs.

The cyberpunk aminations used a plug-in (ajvstheworld et al., 2020; Video Copilot and Final Image Inc., 2022), Whilst taking inspirations from logos from the Sonic movies (Paramount, 2020, 2022), Squid Game (Netflix, 2021) and a neon sign (iStockPhoto LP, 2022)
The Minecraft text animations applied a Light Sweep effect (Mason, 2017) and AE built-in text which resemble the Minecraft font (dafont, n.d.b), and some influences (Hawley, et al, 2020; Uncle Jam, 2017).
The Easter animation was approached an expression. (Dope Motions, 2020) and an influence (Lava Motion, 2018) to express the theme more.
The Ice animation was approached through appropriate text effects (short-form video et al, 2010; EZ Tutorials, 2018), and some influences (PremiumBeat by Shutterstock et al, 2021; Voxyde, 2016).
